Welcome to my very first post on my new day, Tuesdays! I’d been posting on Sundays ever since I started blogging in January, 2016. After getting lots of good info on the best days to post for various things online, I decided last month to change my posting day to Tuesdays. My next big project is working on a quarterly email newsletter to send out to you guys about what’s happening with this ministry.

Today’s blog post is going to be addressed specifically for the ladies. Gentlemen, I will do a post for you sometime later this year. (Feel free to read today’s post in case you know any Christian women you can tell about this study. They’ll want to know!)

In February, I was invited to participate in a launch team for Sarah Koontz’s online Bible study. I was intrigued by the thought of doing an online Bible study. You see, I’d never done one and was curious to know what that was like. I had never heard of Sarah Koontz or her newly created non-profit, Living By Design Ministries, but I took a step of faith. I joined her launch team and read her newest study, Wisdom Whispers.

I was soooo blessed. What an inspiring, encouraging group of leaders! It was work, but such fun work, to pore through the study, share each other’s insights, and promote this wonderful character study on the life of King Solomon. To read my review online, click here: https://livingbydesign.org/wisdomreviews/ (mine is close to the bottom). I hope later this year to go through her other two studies, Worthy of the Calling (Ephesians) and Psalm 119: Study It, Live It, and Love It.

It only takes 15 minutes a day using your device, but I personally liked reading the pdf/hardcopy version. Yeah, I’m old-fashioned. I like real books and I cannot lie. I love real Bibles with paper and margins I can scribble notes in.

As a busy writer myself, I really appreciated how short and concise but packed with significant content each day’s reading was. Lots of thought-provoking comments and tweetable insights. It was easy for me to promote. Below are three examples of the insight I loved gleaning from this study.

On Day One, Sarah shared that “We must continually block out the noise of the world, so we can hear her whisper truth and life into every part of our being.” To me, that is an apt description of how wisdom must permeate every part of our lives for maximum impact.

Wisdom is not just knowledge, it’s applying knowledge appropriately with an understanding from God’s perspective. Common sense shouts; wisdom whispers. Sarah Koontz said it perfectly! On Day Three, we are introduced to King Solomon’s parents, King David and Bathsheba. Remember them—the adulterers? That’s generally how we identify them as. In her teaching on David, Sarah explained that “God didn’t define David by his weaknesses and shortcomings. God saw through them, straight to David’s heart, and loved him.”

That was a refreshing reminder of how the Lord sees the real us and loves us as we are. I don’t know about you, but I need regular reminders of how God sees me, knows me, and loves me when people are being ignorant, ridiculous, sometimes malicious, or just plain stupid! How about you?

On Day 22, Sarah described wisdom as something most people consider stunningly beautiful, but which I despised as a kid. Day 22 turned out to be my favorite day! You’ll know what “it” is when you get to that day and wonder how I could have disliked this object. I will share the story on my blog as a postscript when that day comes around.

If you need an infusion of wisdom, joyful encouragement, and thoughtful insight, you will want to join us tomorrow for day three. It is a 31-day study using a five-day-on, two-day-off format. For the first time, there is an audio version of the study available for you busy commuters who want to maximize drive or carpool time.

Lots of fun free digital gifts are included in this study for us ladies. Included are Read It, Pray It prayer cards, a reading plan, hand-lettered lock screens, hand-drawn coloring pages, and a printable journal for jotting down your own insights about what you read.

It’s not too late! Sign up here: https://livingbydesign.org/wisdom/ and join us tomorrow as we read and absorb Day Three of Wisdom Whispers by Sarah Koontz. I’ll see you over there tomorrow.
